As the year went on and the Calgary Flames traded away some of their unrestricted free agents a lot more responsibility was placed on some veteran defencemen. Rasmus Andersson had trouble shouldering the load left on his plate from those departures.

Two time Stanley Cup champion, former Hab Bob Murdoch dies age 76

Murdoch played for the Montreal Canadiens, and won the Stanley Cup with them in 1971 and 1973, and had four goals and 18 assists in 72 post-season games, qualifying for the playoffs for all 12 of his NHL seasons.
